Proliferative effects of unreacted resin monomer on the human gingival fibroblasts

Abstract
The objectives of this study was evaluation of effectiveness of unreacted resin monomer on the proliferation of human gingival fibroblasts.
Experimental group was consisted of no treatment of freshly light-cured sealant. Specimens were soaked in culture medea to obtain eluted resin components for 12 hours.
Control group was consisted of normal culture medea. To evaluate effect on the proliferation of cell, human gingival fibroblasts were cultured with culture medea included eluted components for 24, 48 hours. The proliferation rate of fibroblasts was evaluation with MTT assay.

The following result were obtained:
1. In both group cultured for 24, and 48 hours, proliferative rate of fibroblasts was lowest in original concentration, and highest in 1/2 dilution of experimental group(P<0.05).
2. The proliferative rate of gingival fibroblasts was accelerated in the proper concentration of eluted unreacted resin monomer.
